“Cheers and thanks, my friends, for the good time.”

From where we got up that morning on Koh Rok Nok, it seemed to a light year away from Phuket. Five days on Jim Jam had taken us so far, and we hated to go back, but we all had to.

“Today is going to be a speed day,” announced the CD as he spread the map on the table after the breakfast.

“First, we will go straight to Phi Phi, have lunch, then Koh Khai Nok, then the Boat Lagoon Marina, and sadly back to you hotel in Phuket.”

Actually I did not wait for him to finish the sentence when I rushed back to my cabin, put on the lotion and my skimpy swim short, and came back to the fly bridge with my unfinished book. Call me selfish, but at least I got the best spot on the front deck with cushion, pillows, a fruit plate, and the lager right by my side.

“Take my place and you die,” I said to the others, but only for an effect as there were actually plenty of such things on the deck lying ready for everyone.

And so we started cruising.

At about 10 knots, we arrived Phi Phi much before noon, and that meant more time to play around. Again the Swedes jumped into the ocean to cool off, and so did I only to remember what it felt like, knowing that it would be one of my last dip's from this wonderful trip.

Lunch was magnificent as usual. And then we told the crew to count how much beer we had left in the cooler as we determined to finish them all at one go for a sake of it before the Marina. And because of that, like Peter and his friends, we decided to skip Koh Khai Nok altogether as well.

That evening, the sun was getting lower and lower towards the horizon while Phuket was getting larger and larger in front of us. Somehow we were able to get our jolly mood back up again just when a couple of dolphins charging in and swimming along the starboard side in the dark blue sea.

As a grand finale, we all stood up to say bye to the two dolphins a few meters away just before Jim Jam entered and snaked into the channel towards the Marina.
